Are you looking for investments that have high upside potential and very little reason to fall? Of course you are, you’re an investor! With that said, I’ve found two stocks that seem to be two of the best on the market….
Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: GILD)
Gilead Sciences is a biotech giant with a strong hold on the HIV and hepatitis C treatment markets. Considering their strong hold, analysts are expecting to see a major increase in earnings for Q1 2015; putting expectations on revenue for the quarter at $6.8 billion. However, I think that even that figure is low…here’s why.
There’s also talks about a possible acquisition. Bernstein’s Geoffrey Porges commented on the idea stating that spending $45 billion to take over Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (NASDAQ: VRTX). The analysts believe that it would give GILD an in on the lucrative cystic fibrosis space; giving the company a way to maintain high incomes as patents on their hepatitis C cocktail start to expire.
Nonetheless, even if GILD doesn’t acquire VRTX, I think they’ll maintain control of the hepatitis C treatment market. As a matter of fact, they’ve recently made a small change that will help to solidify their dominant position. All in all, GILD is simply a great investment option!
Voltari (NASDAQ: VLTC)
Voltari stock offers an incredible story and still more room for incredible growth. If you look back just 3 weeks ago, the company was a small cap marketing company with a stock price of under a dollar. Fast forward a few weeks later and the stock is trading at over $18 per share after exceptional growth.
The growth was caused by the purchase of a massive position in the company. Carl Icahn made the decision to increase his position by more than 4 million shares; causing the stock to jump in value and take on a strong parabolic pattern.
At this point, the massive growth has lead to investor excitement and it seems as though investors are going to push it even higher; so, there’s still opportunity to get in for gains!
