Last night on “Streettalklive With Lance Roberts,” I had the pleasure of having U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady live in studio to discuss several important issues facing the U.S., and the economy, in the months ahead.
In particular we discuss the latest developments on the:
- Veteran’s Administration scandal
- Affordable Care Act
- Planned Parenthood
- Iran nuclear deal
- Debt ceiling, budget and entitlement issues
- Economic imbalances
- Trade agreement
There are many issues facing the economy ahead that have changed the underlying economic growth since the turn of the century. While many political and economic commentators point to the slowest economic recovery since World War II, that is not the real truth.
As I stated to Congressman Brady, this is the slowest economic recovery in the history of the United States.
The problem is that growth is being strangled by the rising burden of debt, and the related servicing of that debt, which detracts tax revenue away from more productive investments to stimulate growth.
There are many challenges ahead with very few easy solutions. Whoever wins the Presidency in 2016 will face a daunting challenge of beginning to “right the ship.”
Thanks to Congressman Brady for visiting.
Please feel free to send comments to me directly.
