VisionChina Media Inc (ADR) (NASDAQ: VISN)
While most stocks on the NASDAQ are running in one way or another at the moment, VisionChina Media hasn’t moved at all. In fact, the stock hasn’t even opened for the day. Minutes ago, our partners at Trade Ideas informed us that NASDAQ has halted the stock with news pending. Below, we’ll talk about what we know thus far and what we’ll be watching for ahead.
What We Know About The VISN Halt
So far, there isn’t much data available with regard to the halt. Nonetheless, we do know a few things…
- First and foremost, the halt is a T12 halt. That means that the stock is “halted pending additional information requested by NASDAQ.” What that information is and when NASDAQ will receive it is still anyone’s guess.
- The stock was halted at its closing price of $2.24 per share. We have seen no after-hours or premarket activity on VISN.
- Something big is likely happening. At the end of the day, stocks aren’t halted for no reason. Halts are generally a sign of big movement to come in the market, and we can expect that to be the case this time around.
What We’ll Be Watching For Ahead
Moving forward, the CNA Finance team will be keeping a close eye on VISN. In particular, we’re interested in learning the reason for the halt and seeing the resulting reaction when the halt is lifted. Nonetheless, we’ll be watching the story closely and bringing it to you as it breaks!
